Wide Eyed Boy – “Sun Again” Single Review

Two parts British, one part German and one part Australian, Liverpool four piece Wide Eyed Boy dropped their new single “Sun Again” back in March, just in time to warm up our wintered British souls. Wide Eyed Boy have sold out shows both at home and in Germany, along with supporting The Libertines, Feeder and more. Safe to say that these guys are worth a look.

“Sun Again” is a straight up indie dance fiesta with no fuss. This track is everything you’ve come to expect from summery British indie, but at its best. Catchy vocal hooks, cinematic guitar sounds and a constant energy make this track a perfect listen on a sunny day. This track is also expertly refined, with every instrument playing its part perfectly, including the lead guitars that punctuate the chorus with a nice emotional kick and the final cymbal heavy outro.

‘Sun Again is about wanting to get out of that downward spiral of everything not going your way, just wanting to feel happy again. It’s something we all go through once or more times in life.’ Says the band about the track.

This single follows the equally great “Loving You Is So Easy”, which shows off more of the band’s talent for vocal work and expert guitar layering.
